At the Academy of Healing Arts, you’ll gain hands-on experience in every certified course. Our training is practical, deeply experiential, and easy to follow – with beautifully presented manuals and workbooks to guide you each step of the way.

All Academy courses lead toward becoming a NZ Certified Energy Kinesiologist and Colour Therapist and are also recognised by the International Kinesiology College, opening pathways for both personal growth and professional practice within New Zealand and worldwide.

What You’ll Experience

Each class is a journey of self-discovery and embodyment for you as well as a learning experience. Every technique taught is one you will both receive and practise – meaning you’ll experience many personal balances and bodywork sessions as you grow your skills.

Most students leave each course more in their ‘toolkit’ and feeling energised, centred, and inspired than when they arrived!

Throughout your studies, you’ll discover how to use kinesiology, energy healing, and colours as vibrational remedies to balance all levels of your being – physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Learn to calm the mind, release emotional stress, reconnect with your purpose, and restore harmony to body, mind, and soul.

A Pathway of Learning and Legacy

The Academy of Healing Arts provides a structured training pathway supporting students to become qualified consultants and teachers in Colour Therapy and Kinesiology.

Under the Academy’s umbrella, practitioners of Soul Power Kinesiology, Colour for Life (Colour Therapy), and Touch for Health Kinesiology can share their gifts with confidence and integrity.

Founded in the early 2000s by Catherine and John North, the Academy was born from Catherine’s deep love of Kinesiology, Colour, and Energy Healing. Her vision was to create a nurturing space where people could heal, learn, and grow together through the language of energy and the wisdom of the body.

In September 2025, Alex Bowles and her husband Dom stepped into the next chapter of the Academy’s journey – carrying forward Catherine’s legacy and expanding her vision to reach and inspire more students.

The Kuaka – Our Symbol of Light and Connection

The Kuaka (Godwit) flies heroic distances toward the light, guided by magnetic fields and collective consciousness. It travels in supportive formations — a symbol of community, guidance, and the journey home — beautifully reflecting the spirit of the Academy’s teachings.
